In 150 years, none of us reading this today will still be alive. Seventy to 100 percent of everything we are fighting for now will be completely forgotten. I emphasize the word COMPLETELY.
If we go back 150 years, to 1872, none of the people who carried the weight of the world on their shoulders then are still alive today. Most of us reading this will find it hard to imagine the face of someone from that time.
Let’s stop for a moment and think about how some of them betrayed their relatives, selling them into slavery for a piece of mirror. Some killed family members just for a piece of land, yam tubers, shells or a pinch of salt. Where are those yams, shells, mirror or salt that they boasted about now? It may seem ridiculous to us today, but that’s how human beings often are, especially when it comes to money, power or feeling important!
Even if you think the internet age will preserve your memory, take Michael Jackson as an example. Michael Jackson died in 2009, just 13 years ago. Imagine the influence Michael Jackson had around the world when he was alive. How many young people today remember him with admiration, if they even know him? In 150 years, his name, when mentioned, will not mean anything to many people.
Let's take life slowly, no one will leave this world alive... The land you are fighting for and are willing to kill for, someone left it, that person is dead, rotten and forgotten. This will also be your fate. In 150 years, none of the vehicles or phones we are using today to brag about will be relevant. Jack, take life lightly!
Let love guide us. Let's be genuinely happy for each other. No grudges, no gossip. No jealousy. No comparisons. Life is not a competition. At the end of the day, we will all cross over to the other side. It’s just a matter of who gets there first, but we will all get there one day.
